The 034Motorsport Upper Dogbone Mount Insert is a critical upgrade for any MK5/MK6 Volkswagen Golf/GTI/R/Jetta/GLI and 8P/8J Audi A3/S3/TT/TTS/TTRS running a dogbone mount and lower dogbone insert. When paired with a lower insert, it eliminates the bending forces that can damage or even snap the factory dogbone arm during aggressive driving, wheel hop, or hard launches.

If you're already running a lower dogbone mount insert — OEM or aftermarket — this upper insert is strongly recommended to protect the drivetrain, maintain mount integrity, and ensure even compression of both upper and lower pucks.

Why You Need It
During violent drivetrain shocks (hard launches, burnouts, wheel hop), the lower puck is restricted by the insert, while the upper puck remains free to move. This imbalance forces the puck assembly to tilt forward, applying a bending moment to the dogbone mount arm. Repeated stress can fatigue or break the OEM arm, causing uncontrolled engine movement and potential damage in the engine bay.

The Upper Insert locks the top puck in place, preventing this rotation and removing the bending load so the mount can function as designed under extreme conditions.

Pair it with your lower insert for maximum drivetrain protection and a more direct, responsive driving feel.
