Genuine Maintenance Parts That Matter

These parts are critical to engine health and are often the root cause of oil leaks, rough idle, boost issues, or increased oil consumption if neglected.

An example of this on MQB is ECS Tuning Upgraded PCV Kit MQB, we strongly suggest replacing/upgrading. 

The PCV on the MQB and other VAGS are one of the weakest links. We have had many customers in the past that has upgraded all the bits and pieces to go stage 2 and beyond but with a stock PCV system.

This is a ticking time bomb for failure with increased boost pressure this will often leads to cracks in the PCV hose, thereby making your car not running due to the engine not measuring air properly.

Oil servicing is one of the most important maintenance items — and not all oils are equal.

Water pumps & thermostats – prone to failure on many modern turbo engines

Low-pressure fuel pumps (LPFP) – especially on higher-kilometre or tuned vehicles

PCV systems – a common issue across turbocharged VAG platforms

Oil Service Intervals (Most Important)

• Every 10,000 km or 12 months

Best for:

• Daily drivers
• Stock or lightly modified cars
• City or mixed driving

Shortened Oil Intervals (Highly Recommended)

If your car is:

• Tuned (Stage 1–3)
• Turbocharged
• Driven in traffic, hot climates, or spiritedly

You should service every 7,500 km & 5,000 km for performance builds.

Minor Service

• Every 10,000–15,000 km or 12 months

Includes:

• Engine oil & filter
• Visual inspection (hoses, belts, leaks)
• Fluid top-ups
• Service reset

Major Service

• Every 30,000–60,000 km or 2–4 years

Includes:

• All minor service items
• Air & cabin filters
• Spark plugs
• Brake fluid

DSG / automatic service (if applicable)

• May also include coolant, belts, and AWD (Haldex/diff) servicing.
